Betty White is one cool lady. From her longevity in comedy to her sense of humor, she is truly one of a kind. Monday marked Betty's official 89th birthday, but she has been celebrating all week with various TV hosts as she also makes the rounds promoting her show Hot In Cleveland.
Betty White on Jimy Fallon
This is what Betty has done so far and she probably has more planned too. She played Password on Jimmy Fallon's show. Password is the game show Betty used to appear on in order to make contestants a bit of money. It was actually a pretty cutthroat game, where Jimmy and his team truly wanted to beat one of the masters of the show. Betty got in to it as well and came back and pounced on him a few times. Who won? It was a draw in the end I think.
Betty and David
What Betty did next was even funnier. She appeared on Late Night with David Letterman and sipped Grey Goose vodka! Did her people really know it was vodka that she was given or was it all just a joke done by Dave and his people? Either way, it shows she is a gal we'd probably all love to sit around and have a drink with. She looked to be having a great time, too, until Dave opened up his big mouth and insulted her. This is what he said via Hollywood.com:
David Letterman knows how to get on Betty White’s good side: break out the photos from her youth over some perfectly chilled Grey Goose. I think it was all going pretty well until he said she reminded him of his mother. (Note to dudes: never tell a lady she reminds you of your mom.)
She let him live it down and they continued on. Betty talked about her show, Hot In Cleveland, and her co-stars, whom she loves: Valerie Bertinelli, Wendie Malick and Jane Leeves. It's a great comedy and it has audiences tuning in each week. How many other 89 year olds have a regular comedy show? Then again, how many 88-year-olds have an online petition demanding they host Saturday Night Live either?
A New Movie for Betty White
Betty also has a movie coming out in 2011 called The Lost Valentine. It also stars Jennifer Love Hewitt and Gil Gerard. There isn't a release date on the film yet, but it has already wrapped filming.
Betty might have had her 89th birthday, but she doesn't show any signs of slowing down yet. You go girl!!
